This is a motorcycle forum and I apologize in advance for this post.
I promised myself AND The people that help run this network and the local "hands on" version that I would NOT gunk up this site with political rants. It would be easy to do, there is no question about that. The truth is that I have come to the conclusion after 4 years with Obama as president that it doesn't really matter who is behind the wheel, the political "machine" and deep pocketed lobbyists are driving the country. Some are better at sitting behind the wheel than others and that is ultimately what defines their time there.
Obama made LOTS of promises MOST of which he did not keep. If you actually need proof of that go here and then come back to this motorcycle forum. ;) I was one of the people that fell for his "change" routine. Hook, line and sinker. All the way to the bank, literally. I have always invested in the real estate market. THANKFULLY, I own 80% of my properties since the ones I don't own either belong to the bank now OR I am so far underwater that I will NEVER get back to solid ground. The bank, Chase bank actually, refused to allow me to short sale a couple properties which I in turn walked away from which THEY in turn foreclosed on and subsequently SOLD at the precisely the same amount my lawyer proposed to them for the short sale. Long sentence explained...? Chase screwed me. Long sentence explained in "Obama terms?" He CLAIMS to have implemented programs to prevent what happened to me from happening. They don't work and he could care less.
ANYWAY.... This is a motorcycle forum and I STARTED writing about Obama, broken promises and fuel prices..... Yes, THAT was IT! Fuel prices! As I am sure you are ALL aware fuel prices are out of control. Pushing $4 here for unleaded and waaaay beyond that for diesel. And virtually every truck I own is...... diesel. Nice. And to make it even more exciting, Energy Secretary Steven Chu was quoted in the WSJ saying "Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe." He made that statement shortly after accepting the SE position, however reiterated that this week when asked at a House hearing if "the overall goal of President Obama is to get fuel prices lower?" He replied, "No."
Confirmation as if I needed any more that Obama and his posse are nothing more than the typical out of touch millionaire politicians that don't give a damn about the everyday lives the "real" people live. And the REASON that they don't care, specifically about fuel prices...? Powerful lobbyists which I am CERTAIN are behind the rising prices AND he is more concerned with his 2012 campaign than he is about our pocketbooks. Unfortunately I see NO ONE on the horizon that has any chance of derailing the billion dollar Obama campaign. I can scream "Anyone But Obama", however, it really won't mean a thing.
I apologize for this brief rant being so confusing. I was trying to express several opinions in a short piece and it didn't work out very well. After all, this is just a motorcycle forum anyway. :)

Permalink Reply by Robert on March 7, 2012 at 8:37pm There is a race card being played. Like it or not , that's the reality. I've heard comments personally, persons exclaiming they don't like the idea of a black president, to paraphrase it. I wasn't pointing a finger at you. I apologize if it came out that way. I was writing in general terms, not aiming at anyone specific, such as yourself. Obama has stated his support for Israel, in regards to the Syrian problem. He said quite adamantly he would not take any attack on Israel lightly, I don't have his exact words memorized, but it was a tone of absolute support for Israel.

Permalink Reply by BBNX on March 7, 2012 at 9:17am I'm just damn glad both of you are members here..... ;)
Maybe I should add a "political forum" tab reserved just for members that want to banter about politics, etc. That will keep it separate from the main forum and allow members to choose to "go there" or not...
Permalink Reply by Julia Bennett-Burch on March 7, 2012 at 3:03pm I think that would be a fabulous solution BBNX! I suppose to be a real network you must have room for everything. Politics is a hard subject to agree on for people. I would venture to say that no two people can truly agree on any issue/topic 100%, and so this is often the root of many arguments. A political page can also give uninformed and undecided individuals a way to see others' point of view.
I am one of those people that is having a hard time accepting any of the candidates right now because they can't stop roasting each other long enough to focus on the issues at hand.
Permalink Reply by BranDEE on March 7, 2012 at 3:40pm I agree! They are ALL at each other's throats so much that the issues are lost in the firefight. Pathetic!
Hope I didn't upset anyone. To me it is all in fun! Separating would be great then it would not leak into 'motorcycle only' area and be somewhat hidden. Thanks to Robert though for the blogging.
Permalink Reply by BranDEE on March 7, 2012 at 2:47pm Alright, looks like Caryle and Robert need to dance! ;)
Any Presidential candidate not supporting Israel, on of our allies, would be in a political suicide. We send 5 billion dollars to Israel yearly for military spending and for very good reasons. Obama is running now and he comes out with his support toward the end..it was a nice speech - liked it, we all applauded but he can't pull the plug on that at all. That is forever. Obama has asked Netenyahu to bend and stretch for the Palestinians with the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Look at the State of Israel, this real estate isn't on the edge of Israel, it lays inside..so absurd. Nothing has been asked of the Palestinians....no compromise just give. The Palestinians Arab brother countries as a government have not lifted a finger for them. Palestinians want Israel and for the Israelis to leave the planet. That is their plan. They have not evolved..the Palestinians do not negotiate well at all.
Bobby Kennedy was shot dead by a Palestinian, Kennedy supported Israel, they hated that..Sirhan Sirhan was sent to eliminate him. He is still in prison but the quest has been ongoing with the Palestinians to remove us and the money from that area so they can go in for the kill. That was part of the beginning for the neer ending story.
Permalink Reply by Robert on March 8, 2012 at 8:41am I totally agree with you there. Like having a Pit Bull clamped to your ass. They don't give up. You have to throw them a raw steak to let go. The tenacity of the Israeli people is world tantamount. Remember the Six-Day War? Outnumbered , but they had something their attackers did not. The Will to Win. Sirhan Sirhan now claims he was hypnotized and had an accomplice. ???? New York adage: " Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer. That's what our leaders are doing, I presume, I hope...........We've been asked to dance, What are you up for? Greatful Dead, Pink Floyd? We are not at each other's throats. If we were in a Tavern, we'd be sharing an ale. We may ride different motorcycles, but we go to the same gas station.
Ok Babe, how about a dance like the Tango! Thanks for the verbal tango for sure. I keep up on the middle east and instead of bedtime stories I told my son (when he could handle it) once upon a time in a land far far away where the sand and wind.....along with other areas too. I think he is the ony 14year old that is an expert on the Fidel Castro, Kim Jong Jil (or however you spell it), Hitler, Hugo Chavez, Mussolini expert..some would say child abuse but others would say an A plus in History. 1 in 5 are somehow related to Ghengis Kahn!
