E-15 Epa announced that fuel suppliers can now use the blend as they see fit (15% ethanol in your gasoline) NOT GOOD for MOTORCYCLES! the Motorcycle Industry Council has deemed the blend unfit for our two-wheelers. Feds have determined that motorcycles are prohibited from using the blend. No legal recourse if you use it and something fails. You're on a road trip. No other fuel available. Your motor burns up. TFB, it's your problem. HR-3199 would require more study into the use of the new blend. Contact your Federal Legislators and help pass HR 3199. (No cosponsors from New York) However we (ABATE of NY - Bflo Chptr) have asked support of this bill to the Honorable Kathy Hochul 26th Dist. NY.

Wow, that's crazy! 15% ethanol....? Your point about being on a trip is a good one!

Hadn't heard of this Robert. Thanks very much for the post. Will fuel additives (ie octane boost) negate the negative effects of the ethanol....? Just curious if that would be an option on a trip.

What the FUCK???? The suppliers can serve us fuel that will damage our engines and it's LEGAL? Seriously.... WHAT THE FUCK????

Keep us posted on any changes on this issue. I hadn't heard about it either.

Thanks very much for this information. I appreciate it! :)

Good article in "Fast Lane Biker" magazine in regards to ethanol fuel in use now, and how detrimental that crap is . (March 2012 - vol 4  issue 7)"Tech Tips. Add another 5%, which may go to 20% ethanol, depending on how accurate the fill is.

Thanks for this post. Good to know.

15% ethanol is ridiculous....

We make synthetic oil, why can't we make synthetic gas?  Where are the guys with the beakers and lab coats, instead we are growing corn.  Call me silly!

the electric car was invented before internal combustion engines. They were quieter and of course no exhaust. The gas engined automobile became more popular because of Henry Ford was building them cheaper. I've seen some electric motorcycles, prototypes, made by college students. The batteries were 95% of the weight. Synthetic gas? Who would support the research? Certainly not the oil co's.No you're not silly. They thought Tom Edison was silly. (It was Tesla who invented Alternating current, used today. Edison who was a proponent of direct current, thought Mr. Tesla was crazy.)

Batteries on a motorcycle for propulsion would weight down a motorcycle but wearing a solar helmet would constantly regenerate the power needed when you were scootin along with some dehydrated synthetic gas and just add water (in my perfect world). What am I smokin?

Keep Smoking! That's how these things get invented. Many of today's technologies came from ideas created from Star Trek.FACT
