Okay I rode into Death Vally in the mid 80´s I stopped in a small town just before DV and met a man that invited us into his camper he warned me of the dangers and said come back if you need help. So on approaching DV there was a huge billboard of a picture of a Cadilacc going into the area top down and people hanging out of the car laughing and drinking okaayy then came the next billboard of the same cadilac leaving DV with a bunch of skeletons sitting in it. Well I shrugged that of like a fool young man would I had a six pack with me and buzzed on joints tok the bike to speed slipped it into neutral and shut her off as DV is i forget exactly but somthing like 3000 Ft below sea level so I was coasting nicely and guzzeled a few beers. My Girlfriend and I stopped maybe 3 guarters of the way down and stopped at a tourist site to eat and get high. She shortly said she felt sick then soon i felt sick so i turned around and started heading back. On the way upI looked and saw a road runner uning beside me Im sure i was hallucinating. When getting back to the next town went to the Mans house drank much water pop etc then left the town He had not been there so i left him a twenty dolar bill with a note. So it did not take long icould nor ride my girlfriend had to with my eyes open i saw spots coming at me and when open only hallucinated then vomiting and the other also. Could not get help at the hospital because i was Canadian they only came outside and gave me a needle of i do not know what. So i took ahotel for three days with ma kast money and bought food and water pop etc. The moral of this story is beprepared ant think ahead when dealing with extremme heat dont be Kocky and think your so tuffit wont happen to you. Obviously carry water and you can also bugh dehydration tabletts and look atthe root ahead so you know were you can stop if no helmezt protect yor head with bandanas etc sun cream rest inthe middle of the day rd before light and after dark. I had to at that time when recovered ride all the way back to Ontario at night as shade was very difficlt to find ther duringthe day. Please ddcomments suggestions and advice. Thank you and safe riding
