Have you ever parked your bike and when you come back it is blocked in by other bikes....? How would you handle this situation...?

Permalink Reply by Jim Brown on July 18, 2012 at 10:53am I should have provided more detail. It was intentional in that they knew they were blocking me in. What I don't know is if they expected to be gone a brief time which turned into hours or if they just didn't care and expected me to move the bikes. Doesn't matter, I moved the bikes. Never saw the people that owned them.
I don't understand how people that responded here with "don't touch the bike" or similar would ever leave... Was I supposed to wait indefinitely? Delay my day/ride for as long as it took for them to return due to the actions of some inconsiderates?
Once they blocked me in the "don't touch another person's bike" rule changed.
Permalink Reply by LittleSisterWA (AnneH) on July 18, 2012 at 11:27am I don't know where you were but there is always a way to find people. Moving someone's bike is a good way to get killed. You don't know who it belongs to. I was at a bike night where 2 guys pulled in on their 'old' school bikes and parked them where they partially blocked the entrance to the bike parking. I walked over and told the guys they shouldn't park there as they were blocking the roadway. They just looked at me and walked off. I immediately went to the owner. Guess who moved their bikes.
Jim I believe you did the right thing brother I would have done the same
Permalink Reply by Sindee on July 18, 2012 at 12:09pm I'm not touching anyone's bike. It's as simple as that. :)
Permalink Reply by Christopher Determan on July 18, 2012 at 1:26pm Intentional, inconsiderate, thoughtless, accident whatever... There some people who will put you in the morgue if you touch their bikes. Don't do it. Better to ask around.
Permalink Reply by Henry Kurt Krauss on July 21, 2012 at 8:08am Well I would simply go do somthing else but if it was an emergency and I needed my bike I would move another bike and if i had enough time would put it back were it was but if in a hurry tough luck!

Permalink Reply by Julia Bennett-Burch on July 27, 2012 at 7:07am This has not happened to me yet but I don't think I would touch anyone's bike. I would go find out whose it was and make them come move it. If they didn't want to do that then things might get a little ugly, but I don't really see that happening.... I can be pretty persuasive if you know what I mean.
