Love, hate, care, share, misery, tears, smiles, defend or distant...Emotions run through us all...Some good, some bad, all paying their toll on our souls...When emotions run us over the best thing to do with them is let 'em run...Pass them on so others who feel the same can know they are not alone...
Trapped

...
... This poetry within my soul...
does it keep me from my goal...
of simple life...desire's pleasures...
as I write these heartfelt treasures ?
...
Do I dream too much to see...
what it takes to live so free ?
Am I trapped within a cell...
writing down my feelings well ?
...
If that's true, I can't see it...
even though my shoes don't fit...
Somehow...as I write these lines...
I feel my Fate as been assigned.
...
I'll just note, there'll come a day...
When I can finally pay my way...
while I share my words of life...
living through my daily strife.
...
Knowing as I write them down...
They may help remove a frown...
As my ink flows many miles...
hope it's painting... many smiles.
...

All the Love she can get!

Every day I watch her cry
Her spirit now just passes by
Two adult more then a little confused
As a pawn this child they use
A beautiful girl but some what a boy
She'll play in the dirt and make her own toy
Things may not always be up to par
But punishing the child is going to far
Can't you see the sadness in their eyes
Or the tears as they say Good Bye
A child and Mamu that are so close
The Love they share we all should toast
Together no longer are they seen
Because of someone heartless and mean
Hurting the child the problem won't solve
And around you world doesn't revolve
By this child you seldom stand
You'd rather be on the go pipe in hand
For this child Love you can't show
That's an emotion you'll probably never know
So while in the garage you continue to sit
Let her have all the Love she can get
Maybe to the child for once be fair
Let her be with the ones that really care
Your life is clearly only about you
Sorry but everyone else can see it too
Save the games for the ones that are full grown
Leave the baby and her Mamu alone!

SINCERITY
_________
written by Rod Hatter
April 3rd, 2010
...
It reaches out from deep within,
to grab my heart, so it can win,
a moment caught in simple pleasure,
comes from all it's hidden treasure.
...
It clasps my soul, now so entwined,
so all those worries leave my mind.
Now these moments fill with wonder,
as joy begins, my soul does plunder.
...
There is no time to give to grief.
As demons leave, I feel relief.
These moments are just full of life,
instead of worry, grief or strife.
...
It's on your face for all to see.
It mends my soul then sets it free.
This smile comes and tells no lies.
It comes from deep within your eyes.

In my arms tonight
Posted by Bill ryan on May 7, 2011
The sun was setting and everything was just right,
In my arms she'd be for tonight,
Not just a friend but so much more,
I had been where she's at many times before,
I felt her pain and let her cry,
I held her close trying to understand why,
It wasn't about the intimate times we had spent,
More love and friendship the way it was meant,
Keeping her close til the demons break free,
So she would know she could count on me,
She held me through out the night,
Fell asleep I still held her tight,
No sounds did I try to make,
Her misery I could not awake,
Loving her as if she was mine,
Had to be sure she would be fine,
She called and said she couldn't be alone,
I picked her up after I hung up the phone,
She really had no place to go,
I was her friend she surely did know,
The demons don't have to be bold,
They come into your life and just take hold,
Control you now have not,
That is what the demons have got,
Relax sleep and let your head clear,
Don't worry for you I'll always be there,
Believe it's friendship and not what I can get,
There's a very special place in my heart where you fit,
This is a promise I make to you,
If you ever need a friend you know what to do,
Put some money in the slot and dial the phone,
My voice will tell you your never alone!
Come to me and take a seat,
Love and friendship can never be beat!

"Brown eyed girl "seems to be playing every place
Always takes me back to that soft beautiful face
The eyes that simply make your heart melt
A smile that shows just how wonderful she felt
On this woman I'd surely bet
She'd be the best a man could get
Only knowing her from the TV screen
To many that might not mean a thing
Yet she's a guest and friend sitting next to me
In her words there is so much to see
She can be silly or very bright
That depends on how she feels that night
She welcomes many with open arms
No need for her to ever put on the charm
Second nature to her it just seems to be
Her giggles send a smooth easy feeling right through me
And of course let's not forget the bar
Where the goodie box and all of her friends are
I guess what I am trying to say
Is you've made a friend til my very last day
If you ever want to chat or talk for a spell
I am here or you could call me as well
So won't you please smile big tonight
You have friends and everything will be alright!

Brainless Cager
written by Rod Hatter

...
Brainless cager...saw you scurry...
Why you rushin'?...What's your hurry?
...
On your cell phone...reading paper...
In my lane...you start to taper.
...
Then you panic...quickly veer.
Near the sidewalk...you then steer...
...
Getting all around you scared...
Forgetting that...these roads are shared.
...
You got lucky...Killed no-one...
Someone's mother, daughter, son...
...
maybe you should...just turn 'round...
drive yourself...homeward bound.
...
Once you're home...hope you find...
something that you left behind...
...
Look real hard now...really strain.
Somewhere...you misplaced your brain.
...
When you find it...screw it in...
Toss your keys...and then begin...
...
Take a taxi...ride a bus...
So much safer...'Tis for us...

...
One thing we all share
as we go through life...
Our bodies will die,
no matter the strife...
No difference if rich.
No difference if poor.
You can't take it with you...
That is for sure.
Your measure of worth...
It comes down to this...
As you lived your life...
did you create bliss?
Or did you live greedy,
hording your treasure?
Not taking in...
all of life's pleasure.
Demanding of others...
Hungry for power...
Or did you stop,
to enjoy a flower?
Real legacy is...
what's left behind...
Sharing life's lessons,
for future to find.
Giving through art,
or teaching some class.
Finding solutions...
True visions through glass.
Creating some music...
Filming a show...
or just showing manners,
to all who you know.
Then those who knew you...
remember you well...
Keeping your spirit
alive in their tales...
Each generation,
having strong roots...
Will reach for the Heavens...
While starting new shoots...
