Where Does Everybody Stay During the Rally?

oops, should have posted here-sorry!  The place you are staying sounds great.  No matter where you go, there you are and Sturgis is a huge party in the middle of nowhere.

I was thinkin i would stay out at bear lake campgrounds....i really liked it when we camped there in fall so..provided we get there early enuf ..thats probably tha spot..

We've stayed at the Chip and Broken Spoke. We've also slept in fields out of town, however, not all the property owners are..... welcoming. ;)

Been to most of the big places. We've done the "pull down a side road and sleep" thing too, however, you need to be substantially out of town or Johnny Law will make you move.

I have made 6 trips to Sturgis over the past few years. A couple of times I stayed with a close friend, a lady I met there on my very first trip, who sadly has since passed away. But I have stayed at a couple of different campgrounds, the best of which, in my opinion is none other than Glenco, located at the southern end of town. It has everything you need and more, and it is one hell of a party you will not experience in town. Buffalo Chip is good if you want to be up all night rocking out to music and wild and crazy people. The reason I prefer Glenco, is it has many trees and roads that intertwine the very large campground, which makes it a very desirable place to camp, and, you can get far enough away from the music if you want some peace and quiet. They charge $150.00 for the week, but given what they offer, it is well worth the price of the ticket. I really want to go to Sturgis again this year, but am waiting to see what the price of fuel is going to be like. If I do go, Glenco is going to be where I light down.

Yeah, we have stayed at the Chip.... It's a great place IF you don't need ANY sleep. Same with Broken Spoke.

I am staying at Glencoe-just purchased the armbands. It is nice with the trees and ammenities (ecluding stinky porta potties but oh well). We will be staying with a group from all over and nice to meet Americans from all over, my age group, who do enjoy the quiet time after a certain time for sleep. I am way too old to party all night long....after the third day I look like a zombie. lol

The Broken Spoke Campground is Outstanding! Great music, clean and lots of people ans space!

Every time we stay at the Spoke it seems like the entire place is one fistfight away from anarchy.... LOL!  A lack of security, etc. It IS fun though.... :)
