Profile Information

Who am I...

I have been riding motorcycles my whole life. With the help of friends I built my first bike, a combination of 2 basketcases (1937 & 1942) Flathead 45 c.i. two wheeler for less than $300, when I was 16-18 years old. Ah, those good ole days...Bought myself a 49 Panhead in 1973 that I was constently working on and fixing to keep on the road. I did put nearly 1/4 million miles on it, and got to run up and down the west coast often. I later became the father of my 2 Sons and took a decade off from riding to raise my boys, and keep it together. Once you have riden it gets in your blood, and I had to get back on the road again. I built my current 80 c.i. replica 1955 Panhead custom from the ground up over a decade ago, and sure enjoy when i can get out and ride it. I have been an active member of A.B.A.T.E. of Oregon, Inc., and believe our freedoms are in jeopardy. I love to put life's stories into words and I write poetry. I would invite all who also write to join me in sharing some of their works with others who visit this site. I like to end notes with "Keep it in the sun!" and this does not mean to be a fair weather biker, it means keep a good attitude and smile alot.

Thanks Rod for your kind words. I have "met" some very inspiring and encouraging people on this site, and I hope to one day meet everyone in person.

Hi Rod,

Thank you so much for the birthday wish, nobody ever send me birthday wishes :)  I hope things get better for you and all of us.  Not sure how they think people are to survive.  I am looking forward to this next week or so of beautiful sun and plan to do some riding.  That's what keeps me going. Just getting a couple rides in makes a big difference in getting through the winter. Tell Sonny hi for me.  Hope she's still happy with her sportster.  Have a safe and great holiday season :)
