That question dawned on me last night watching the news. Several major cities were preparing to evict "occupy protesters". The protesters had encampments that were going to be removed, forcefully if necessary. The reporter on the channel I was watching walked through the crowd asking various participants what they wanted, what they were hoping to accomplish. The answers were not enlightening.
“We’re just making a statement, kind of, protesting what’s going on", one girl responded. The…

Being an avid biker, living in North West Michigan is challenging to say the least. I've compounded the challenge by deciding to live, several years ago, on a non county maintained road. Needless to say, when the snow starts to pile up my riding days are over till Spring.
There was a time when I lived in an area with paved streets which were plowed, maintained, etc. That provided me the opportunity to ride year round. I took full advantage. There is NOTHING BETTER than putting on the…

it really IS as simple as that.
I've lost count as to the number of times I have needed to crack my throttle to "remind" someone in the cage next to me NOT to slide into my lane. If you spend a substantial amount of time on the road you have certainly had similar experiences. The person next to you is daydreaming or distracted and you just KNOW that they are ready to cut you off. A crack of the throttle and they are reminded that there is a bike next to them. Makes ALL the sense in…

I spend time trolling the internet every day. A LOT of time. Between running multiple web sites, Facebook sites, Twitter accounts, playing the SEO game and just readin the news (I am a news junkie) I am out here most of my day. It NEVER ceases to amaze me at the amount of information out here. And even more amazing is that the database grows daily.
In the last several days I have found a couple web sites that I never thought existed, however, was sure that they did. It seems like…
ContinueIf you've tried to market a Facebook Page lately, you probably have a very real understanding on how difficult it is to get "likes". Likes are similar to friends in the world of Facebook, except that the likes are a valuable commodity whereas the friend designation is more of a social accolade.
We naively believed that between our 38,000+ (and growing daily) Biker Lifestyle Network…
ContinueBiker t-shirts. Who in the HELL doesn't crave a Biker T-Shirt? They scream attitude, bikes and...... "coolness". The Biker Lifestyle Network has long been an advocate of "T-shirts for all", however, just recently entered the fray with their own, sick design. Check them out and tell me…

Michigan's "Make a Wish" foundation has been in existence since 1984. "David's Heroes" is one of many teams dedicated to granting wishes to children throughout Michigan.
Since 1984, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan has granted wishes to more than 6,500 special children in Michigan. Of each dollar spent, nearly 80 cents goes directly to granting wishes for children with life-threatening…
ContinueI had to purchase a part for my bike over the weekend. I took a ride on Friday and my blinkers and brake light stopped working without warning. I had no idea what could have caused the issue, however, with a few posts out here and a Tweet requesting advice from our 40,000 +/- followers I was able to determine the culprit was the Turn Signal Module (TSM).
My next hurdle was finding the…

It's not that I don't enjoy the scenery. Leaves changing colors is cool and I'm fortunate to have some great views of Lake Michigan from my deck, however, Fall means one thing. Winter is soon to follow. And I hate Winter even more than Fall.
I USED to enjoy Winter when I had more time and was more interested in ripping along snowmobile trails going…

Finally, someone has figured out that repealing the helmet law will INCREASE tourism in Michigan. According to the "Michigan Radio" web site the sponsor of the bill, (Peter Petallia) stated, "'Our state needs that tourism'. (I like this guy already!)
A state House committee has approved a measure that would allow motorcyclists 21 years and older with…
